Nature
What is your personality like?
Ishmael is not a typical techpriest. Although a loyal follower of the Mechanicus creed he still retains a large measure of his humanity, at least by the standards of techpriests. Despite advancing up the ranks of the Mechanicum and receiving significant augmentation he still has a sense of humour and is still able to form friendships. Ishmael's retention of his humanity is in large part due to the frequently long times he has spent apart from his fellow techpriests and in the company of the Inquisition. There are few things that can move him to anger, only the profaning of technology and damaging his comrades can bring it out. Despite his 'humanity' Ishmael is ruthless and completely without mercy to any who he deems to be his enemy or even merely in his way.
How did you meet the Inquisitor?
Ishmael came to the attention of Trantor when he lead a squad of Skitarii in an attack on a large and very dangerous heretical cell that the Inquisitor was investigating. Ishmael was tasked with retrieving a piece of valuable archaeotech that the heretics had found and he carried out the task with efficiency and his customary ruthlessness. Although angered that the cell had been completely wiped out and this avenue of investigation shut Trantor recognised that with the right incentives Ishmael could prove to be an extremely valuable asset.
What does the Inquisition mean to you?
The Inquisition represents two opportunities to Ishmael. The first opportunity is part of his deal with the Inquisitor. Should the cell come across any interesting piece of technology Ishmael has the right to be the first one to investigate it and catalogue his findings before he disposes of it as appropriate. The second opportunity that the Inquisition represents to Ishmael is it allows him to test himself against the toughest challenges that he could face. This allows his to constantly improve and refine his design so that he may come closer to the Omnissiah.
What will you sacrifice?
While he still has some human emotions Ishmael is still a tech-priest and as such will make any sacrifice which seems rational in pursuit of his goals, regardless of who or what that sacrifice may be.
What do you desire?
Ishmael desires two things. To perfect his own design and to have access to new and interesting technology so that he may study it, learn and thus become closer to the Omnissiah.
What do you hate?
Ishmael hates those who profane and defile technology and those who damage his friends.
