Thought for the day: Redeem with Bolter. Cleanse with Flamer. Purify from Orbit.

OUT-OF-CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE: Although these are written as in-character records from the Inquisitor, your characters themselves don't know about these records. These are GM-written based upon the reports submitted so far, and observations from unknown sources.

Calimacrux Acolyte Cell

With two successful missions under their belts, I believe that overall the Calimacrux Cell are a successful addition to the Inquisition's rosters. I believe they are now ready for their first extended deployment, although I will continue to keep a close eye on their activites to ensure they remain The Emperor's Loyal Servants.

Their conduct thus far is broadly acceptable, with the expected period of adjustment to both their new responsibilities and comrades still ongoing. As a whole, their actions and judgement regarding matters of importance is without major issue and they have demonstrated a clear ability to think on their feet and deal well with situations outside that expected of much of the Imperium.

The destruction of the Sinophian Mirror (Reference: Artefact µ37 - Sinophian Mirror Shard by Varnias Nicodemus) has led to their unexpected exposure to warp energies, and therefore in order to ensure that they remain uncorrupted and pure I have the perfect task for their next assignment, which will purify their souls and purge their minds of any taint.

Specific reports and/or concerns regarding their actions and abilities thus far follow this report.

Vern Renshaw, Adeptus Arbites

Vern has thus far proved himself an able investigator, although at times his combat abilities seem to lack focus (Reference: Queen of Sepheris Incident). His lack of constitution has not yet proven a significant downside, although it is recommended that he improve this situation before it proves to be his downfall.

Vern, as an Arbitrator, continues to uphold the Emperor's Law as I expected he would, and remains devoted to his service in the Emperor's name.

Zek Gallus, Murderer (Pardoned)

Zek has shown himself to have many talents apart from taking others lives, and it is my hope that his service continues to draw his full potential from his current obsession with death. His current preference for long-range combat has proven somewhat of a hinderance thus far in the confines of the Gorgonid Mines as well as the streets and buildings of Sinophia Magna, however he has already taken the initative in improving his own close combat skills and he is well on the way to becoming a well-rounded acolyte, able to both perform complex investigations as well as shoot or stab his way out of trouble.

One issue that needs to be resolved is his favoured long rifle - it has shown to have a tendency to jam often, possibly due to past neglect during his murdering days.

+++ Inquisitor Trantor, Ordos Hereticus +++

Hastur Aurelius, 57th Penal Legion (Pardoned)

Hastur, as expected, has dived straight into his role as an Acolyte of The Emperor's Loyal Inquisition, and has taken on somewhat of a leadership role within the Calimacrux Cell. Although he has remained true to his Imperial Guard and Penal Legion experiences and has focussed on combat techniques and therefore is comparatively lacking in investigative skills, this is not a problem as Hastur has proven able to lead the fight in any circumstances, and his ability to notice the pertinent and ask the right questions - even if they are asked in the wrong way due to his lack of interpersonal skills - means that he has proven himself.

Hastur has proven to be the most steadfast and loyal of the Cell thus far, and has not faltered in his duty to the best of my knowledge. Hastur has taken it on himself to learn how to handle the Burnished Hawk, the armed transport I am assigning to the Calimacrux Cell. While I acknowledge his initiative in this matter, I cannot help but wonder if this is the start of an unhealthy obsession with power. I harbour concerns regarding his temperament, particularly with his obvious interest in large and powerful weaponry. Therefore, his explosive collar will remain attached until further notice.

Varnias Nicodemus, Sanctioned Psyker

Varnias has proven stable thus far, although there have been a few incidents of uncontrolled psychic discharge to date. However, his mind remains as intact as it started at this point in time.

Varnias has proven most able in his composition of their reports to me thus far, and thus far has not outright lied, although he has omitted many truths so far to protect himself and his fellow Acolytes. Although this loyalty is admirable, I will remind him of his duties to myself, The Emperor's Loyal Inquisition, and The Emperor himself, and ensure that his reports are more... complete in future.

Surprisingly, the other Acolytes seem to be working with Varnias well - although the natural mistrust of those who share my talents is there, there have been little overt tensions between the sole Psyker on the team and the blunts thus far. I can only pray that this state of affairs continues, although naturally I will keep watch on all of them.

Varnias remains under the protection of V3NR14, and with the Burnished Hawk assigned to the team this arrangement will proceed with greater ease than before.

+++ Inquisitor Trantor, Ordos Hereticus +++

Pike, Ganger

Pike has proven himself able in a fight and, as expected, the most indirect thinker of the Calimacrux Cell thus far. His initiative, although sometimes backfiring, is admirable, and although at the moment it appears to be more of a detriment than an asset hopefully his skills will improve in time.

One issue is that Pike appears not to take his duties to the Inquisition as seriously as they should - although I expected a certain measure of selfishness and independence, his conduct thus far is perhaps a little too far out of line. Therefore, I will make it clear to him that his responsibility to the Golden Throne comes first, and once those responsibilities have been discharged to my satisfaction then he can enjoy the improved life he now can live.

The Burnished Hawk, Modified UD12 ChickenHawk-class Utility Dropship

The newly refitted Burnished Hawk will be assigned as the Calimacrux Cell's independent transport for their impending deployment into the Sveslor Subsector. I will ensure that the acolytes are familiar with the basics of its operation, and hopefully its size, speed, and firepower will enable them to get into or out of any problem areas that arise during their assignment there. Its status as a commonly-used smuggling vessel, as well as the cache of false registrations which are logged in its cogitators, should ensure it attracts the minimum of attention even though it is much more heavily armed than other craft of its type.

V3NR14, Inquisitorial Combat Servitor

I have upgraded V3NR14's capabilities in light of the Calimacrux Cell's upcoming assignment, and have ensured that the appropriate facilities have been installed on board the Burnished Hawk for V3NR14's maintenance.
