Location: Ironhedge Bridge
Day One
- Arrived in late afternoon while guarding Braichbur travelling from Estergate Forest.
- Obtained temporary passes and took lodgings at the Jackrabbit.
Information of interest:
- Identification pass system has been in place from about a month and a half
- Villages & farms surrounding Ironhedge Bridge have been suffering a higher level of Orc raids than normal
- Permanent passes for the town can be obtained at the keep
- Sir Reldler is the person to speak to for further information
Day Two
- Traded temporary passes for permanent
- Learned that the town armourer Tobel has been missing for about a month
- Was asked by Sir Reldler to look into Tobel's disappearance
- Investigated Tobel's House & found Tobel's Sword Blank and Tobel's Romance Novel
- Tobel's apprentice Drauld indicated that Tobel loved to read but hated Worl's Blacksmithing Manual
- Questioned Tobel's rival Worl who seemed honest in knowing little of relevance
- Sought assistance from Surespell Tower (and escaped with our eyebrows!)
- Returned with the wizard Liskel to Tobel's House and discovered the trap on the romance novel
- Discovered the underground Gem Chamber and Tobel's Gem
- Gained contract to investigate fully under the authority of the keep
- Questioned merchants in the Eternal Flame who believed that if anyone had anything to do with Tobel's disappearance then it would be Worl
- Noticed that there was no smoke coming from Worl's Smithy
- Broke into (via the back) Worl's Smithy where the forge was cold - he must have left immediately after we questioned him.
- Tracked Worl to the Lower Docks where a rope disappeared into the water at the base of the tower
- Followed the rope to an underwater entrance to the sewers
- Entered the sewers...
Encounter
In the sewers we encountered a Wereboar and several Shifter Hunters in Norwynn garb. They were carrying a document on which the only legible word was "Norwynn". We also found Worl's body with indications that he had gone there to meet them but had been killed instead.
Within an alcove of the sewers we found a sack containing a partially decomposed body. We retrieved an identification pass from the body before returning to the Jackrabbit (and much needed baths).
Day Three
We reported our findings to Sir Reldler who was able to confirm the ID pass was Tobel's. After assisting in the retrieval of the body we were paid off from this contract.
In light of the implications that Norwynn may be involved we were retained for further investigation of the infiltration of Ironhedge Bridge. We carry a contract that gives us the authority of the keep for the investigation but have been asked to keep it quiet for the time being.
Sir Reldler has arranged for the keep to pay our expenses at the Jackrabbit for the remainder of our stay in town.
