Day 4

• The party went to the grate in order to inform the guards they had left the sewers.
• A commotion was heard from inside the sewers and the guards below did not answer calls for an explanation.
• The party dropped into the sewers again to investigate.

• The party came across the dead bodies of a squad of town guards sans their captain. The bodies were being picked over by rats.
• The rats were exterminated. Culain drowned one in the sewer water.
• A gelatinous cube ate Harold and later Culain.
• The cube was destroyed.

• Another squad of guards was found dead further inside the sewers, these had their sergeant with them.
• The guards seemed to have been killed by some form of magic.
• The body of a razorclaw shifter was also found.
• Aome, an elven thief was found searching the body of the sergeant for Tobel's Gem
• Aome was in the employ of some people in Draccliff.
• Tharo shot Aome in the arm.
• Aome was coerced into searching for the shifter that had attempted to assail us in the Jackrabbit.

• Sir Reldler was informed of recent events.

• The party arranged an interview with Leris, a wizard at the tower.
• Leris was taken to the underground chamber and shown around.
• The ash was gone.
• The magic is old and requires a large amount of specialised power to create. The magic is local but the technique is from accross the seas.

• Plans to teleport objects around 500' up to see where the chamber is were abandoned due to monetary constraints.

• The Eternal Flame was visited.
• Lord and Lady Tiaden were in attendance.
• We were introduced and discussed recent event with his lordshio.
• Lord Tiaden seems kind and knows his limitations.
• Apparently lordship is a popular vote rather than a hereditary position.
• Tiaden used to be a merchant, his business was taken over by Ajar the gem merchant.
• The business is usually run from a ship.
• According to Lord Tiaden, Ferrod has become a rogue element, he and Sir Reldler would like to get rid of the Merchant's Guild but it would ruin the local economy.

• Tharo and Culain went to investigate Ajar's house in a less than legal manner.
• Harold and Faria went back to the Jackrabbit.

• At the Jackrabbit, Harold and Faria were met by Aome who informed them that she had found the shifter sheltering in a house on the north side of town.
• The two hurried towards the house.

• Tharo failed to enter the house stealthily and was flattened by the shifter as it fled through the door.
• Culain gave chase along with Faria and Harold although the later became tangled in his sword.
• Harold instead mustered the guards.
• The beast leapt onto the roof of a house and Culain followed. Both crashed through the roof into the house below.
• The shifter was cornered in the bedroom of the house.
• Culain began to brawl with the shifter and snapped its neck.

• The family were evacuated while a priest was called for to heal the dying shifter.
• The shifter was transferred to the Temple of Bahamut in a stable condition.

• Preliminary questioning of the shifter showed he is reluctant to assist us in our enquiries.
• He was looking for the gem and had been employed by a hooded figure in the eternal flame.
