Day 13
- The party was bought before Sir Reldler.
- After some tense to and fro, Reldler sided with the party.
- Faria reconstituted the three burnt papers.
- It seemed that Ajar sold 10 Astral Diamonds worth of goods.
- Ajar also has a list of mundane items with a total cost of ~10 Astral Diamonds. Connection?
- Ajar's explanations are suspect.
- The third note is written in some odd script.
- The party went to investigate Ajar's ship, the Flanking Rogue.
- Culain retrieves the Flanking Rogue Ship's Log.
- We go back to Ajar's House.
- The magical books are written in the same script as the note.
- The walls of the cellar are investigates and two small holes are found.
- Tharo attempts to investigate the holes and is interrupted by a bemused spider.
- The ship's log seems legit but contains yet another unknown script.
- A barrel of wine from Vergha's Vinyard is found.
- This is odd considering Vergha only sells his wine by the bottle.
- The party go to the vineyard and seek an audience with Vergha.
- We are obstructed by the gnome who answers the door.
- Eventually we get to speak with Vergha but are unable to see all of him.
- Vergha says the script in the captain's log is from over the sea but doesn't know the other scripts.
- Vergha is informed of Ajar's barrel of wine and is most annoyed.
- ??? informs us that the note is written in Barazhad, the demonic language (Can't remember who).
- The party visits Lord Tiaden to bring him up to date on current events.
- We get a warrant from him to retrieve the demonic texts from Ajar's house.
- Lady Tiaden is in possession of Lord Tiaden's signet ring. Intriguing.
- Dradan, the captured cleric, is put to work deciphering the books.
- From initial glances, the blue one is about summoning elementals and the orange one is about summoning really bad things.
- The note is written in a different language that shares the script with Barazhad.
- We return to Ajar's house to look for a summoning circle.
- We insert arrows into the holes in the cellar wall.
- This causes one of the bookshelves to fall inward.
- The cavity behind is filled with magical darkness.
- Culain investigates and falls down a friction-less chute.
- Farya quickly follows.
- Tharo and Harold tie a rope to the cellar stairs and Harold is lowered down.
- Tharo is a weak elf.
- Harold plunges down the chute before being stopped by the rope.
- Tharo climbs down the rope after Harold.
- The bookshelf shuts, snapping the rope.
- Everyone ends up in a magically dark room filled with carpet.
- Tobel's sword is somehow able to light the room dimly.
- Under the carpet is a summoning circle with traces of soot, salt and blood stains.
- Some of the circle has been washed recently with water.
- The carpet heals as soon as you cut it.
- The carpet adheres to the floor of the chute.
- We carpet our way to freedom.
- Sir Reldler is informed and Ajar is taken into custody.
- Ajar claims no knowledge of the summoning.
- Ajar can't remember getting the book. Worrying.
- Collusion between Ferrod and Ajar?
- Evidence is consistent with a large water elemental being summoned recently.
- The rain is probably a water elemental.
- A fire elemental was summoned before that, possibly setting fire to Tobel's house.
- What about the blood?
- Dradan informs us that the blue book is all about elementals.
- The orange book is about demons and WORSE THINGS.
- Oh SHI-
- To stop the rainstorm we would have to summon the same elemental and order it to stop.
- We go to see the wizards and are introduced to Ti'lor.
- Once the tower is fixed (sometime tomorrow) he will help to contain the elemental.
- We go to the vineyard again in order to see Vergha and ask him more questions.
- More obstruction.
- We decide to be extremely unsubtle.
- We bust into the cellar, time for a fight!
