Day 21 (Night)

  • We inspect the guard currently looking after him and find they are doing a good job.
  • We decide to sleep downstairs just in case.
  • The night passes uneventfully.

Day 22

  • In the morning we spot a suspicious fellow at breakfast.
  • We keep an eye on him as Tiaden announces he will be giving a speech to the assembled refugees.

  • Tharo sits on the roof as an observer/sniper.
  • Culain stands next to Lord Tiaden as a bodyguard.
  • Farya stands behind the podium to offer speedy medical assistance.
  • Harold and two guards patrol the crowd.

  • Suspicious fellow is suspicious. (But ultimately not involved in the plot)
  • A number of people are accused of theft and escorted away before they can do any harm.
  • An unknown wizard teleports away once he/she/it is spotted.
  • One of Tiadens guards is acting suspicious and is incapacitated rather messily by Farya.
  • A bowman gets his bowstring cut by Harold.
  • An assassin charges the podium but runs into the brick wall known as Culain.
  • A cloaked figure is taken out by Culain and Harold before he can properly use his lightning powers.
  • The speech ends and Tiaden is still alive.
  • Mission Accomplished!

  • The prisoners are taken to the dungeons.
  • We attempt to question one of them.
  • He's a doppelganger.
  • He manages to escape us and frees some of his comrades.
  • We kill most of them leaving only two alive.
  • The remaining two (non-doppelgangers) tell us everything they know (Which isn't a lot)

  • They were hired by someone they met in the bar.
  • Their employer was clad in a dark cloak, they never saw his face.
  • The assassins didn't know each other before the job and were all mercenaries from elsewhere.
  • There are three assassins still at large:
    • Two halflings who didn't show up on the day.
    • The wizard who teleported away

  • We raid their safe-house and find loot.
