Day 23

• Left Harold investigating passes to find the missing Dwarvez.
• queried Miss Toni about any suspicious halflings given two had evaded capture at the speech the day before.
• Two arrived with the refugees. One was called Hinard.
• While Harold buried himself in passes Culain was easily able to find Hinard's.
• Hinard's last movement was to the south bank across the bridge
• Pass system was set to alert the checking wands when Hinard's wand was checked.
• Tharo borrowed a pass wand to check passes.

• At the Eternal Flame there were two shifty haflings.
• Culain and Faria stages a bar brawl as a distraction... Which Faria started by breaking Culain's nose!
• In the ensuing chaos Tharo lifted the passes from the two haflings and one turned out to be Hinard. The fight then turned real.

• Hinard was killed.
• Other hafling captures and taken to the keep for questioning.

• Harold found one pass from the three missing Dwarves by the name of Yale
• Yale entered by the Cornice Gate this morning. History shows that the entered and left by the same gate yesterday.
• Once again we have set the pass system with an alarm.

• The guards at the gate insist that the gate has not opened at all let alone had any travelers.
• Test of the wand at the gate prove that they have the right wand.

• Harold then found a second pass for a dwarf called Toneng. No movement is recorded for this pass since it was granted.

• We located Yale in a house near the gate... Along with a scytheclaw and several flame traps (in the form of statues with rotating heads)
• Faria took care of the dwarf, Culain handled the 'claw, and Tharo dealt with the traps while balancing on the heads of the trapped statues.
• found a modified pass wand on the bodies which teleports the pass holder between the house and a tunnel under the walls.
• The house also contained a piece of rock from the walls that fits a hole in the foundation. Faria replaced this.

• Harold and the guards set out to search for other tunnels while Culain, Faria, and Tharo set an ambush in the tunnel already discovered.

• Late (very late) Faria noticed some magic spreading from the rock she'd placed back in the wall.
• She quickly extracted the rock and passed it to Culain who hurled it towards the enemy... It imploded shortly after!
• A loud "crump" sound was heard from the West.

• We raced along the wall to the west to find that a large section of wall was simply missing. All the rock had disappeared, leaving the fill behind. That second of wall is now a ditch 10' deep (DM change - 30' is really really deep, and town wall foundations definitely aren't that deep!).
