Overview
Tanim Silver Skies Scholar, Forgotten Word Seeker, Flamestrike Wanderer, Apprentice of Alchemy, Exaltant Havens Sorcerer, Ninth Lord of Sagespear.
Tanim is an Solar Exalted of the Twilight caste. Although he has many titles, he does not use them unless it is necessary or expected of him (for example, as the Ninth Lord when he is at home in Sagespear).
Appearance
At first glance, Tanim appears to be a well-groomed young man in his early twenties, native to the Blessed Isle. His dress - a well-worn deep blue traveling cloak, a hardy dark grey leather coat, and an excellently made light blue silken robe - marks him as a traveler in these Northern lands. Grey cloth trousers and worn brown leather traveling boots complete his outfit.
Tanim's left arm has been torn from its socket, and the repaired sleeves of his robe and coat are tidily pinned up to avoid them flapping around.
Tanim stands just under 6 feet in height, and although not strong he is fit and in good health. His light brown eyes gleam with intelligence, shining from under his dark brown, nearly black, hair, which is swept back away from his face and just covers his neck at the back. His face is best described as unmemorable, and he keeps himself clean-shaven.
Tanim carries a well-packed backpack of essentials for traveling. His weapons are covered underneath his cloak - sai and baneclaw on his lower back, sideways, ready to be drawn in his left and right hands respectively, and his two firewands holstered on his left and right sides, small bags of individual paper-wrapped firedust charges behind them. He also has a short knife in a sheath strapped to his right hearthstone bracer. The bracers themselves are a treasured item of Tanim's, and are always hidden under his sleeves.
Tanim is (was) left handed.
Anima
Tanim's anima takes the form of a flock of Bee Hummingbirds, each approximately 2 inches in length and glowing blue and green, which circle around his body, surrounded by swirling golden snowstorm.

Superior Equipment

Normal Equipment

- Sai
- Longbow
Other
- Travelling Alchemist's Kit (cost: resources 2, allows initiate level alchemical procedures, see page 138) - This small bag of miscellaneous glassware and commonly used substances provides the basic tools for initiate level alchemical procedures, but is insufficient for higher-level procedures. This kit was put together from materials gathered on the island of Avalon. Kits of this type are intended for travelling healers so they can produce salves and medicinal potions. Note: it does not provide ingredients, and cannot be used for other types of thaumaturgy (unlike larger less portable laboratories or workshops).
Manse
Sagespear Manse
Sagespear Manse •
Aspect: Wood
Hearthstone: Gem of Injury Sense [BoS3, 98]
Drawbacks:
- Habitability • [BoS3, 65] - the manse has no amenities, but can provide shelter.
Powers:
- Minor Tricks and Traps • [BoS3, 67] - the manse is a complicated, Essence-blurred maze.
- A successful (Intelligence + Investigation) roll, difficulty 3, lets a character navigate the maze.
- Each successful roll adds 1 success to this roll in the future, each attempt takes 30 minutes.
- Success with a threshold of 3 extra successes indicates the character has figured out the maze and can find their way through without problems.
- Archive •• [BoS3, 68] - the manse includes five books (left by Whispering Dusk Wings) containing the following spells:
- Emerald Countermagic [253]
- Stormwind Rider [254]
- Flight of Separation [BoS2, 45]
- Summoning of the Harvest [BoS2, 64]
- Thunderwolf's Howl [BoS2, 66]
The Sagespear Manse is a relatively small cottage-sized manse constructed of a combination of entwined trees and timber construction, located in the middle of an unnaturally dense grove of palm trees. This grove of trees is situated next to an oasis in the hills on the edge of the Glitter-Flame Desert, and the village of Sagespear has grown around the manse and its oasis.
The trees are difficult to navigate and seem to shift, especially as one goes deeper into the grove. Once the manse itself is found, it has a way of confounding visitors through numerous small rooms and many doors, and visitors often find themselves back somewhere in the grove after taking a wrong turn.
Once the maze of perplexing rooms is navigated, the hearthroom is the only room in the manse. The room contains a central pillar made of essence-infused twisted vines, which glows providing dim light to the room, and a desk with the stack of five spellbooks on it. For some reason, these spellbooks cannot be taken from the room - they are physically prevented from passing through the doorway.
